This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Website.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Login Information

• Users log in exclusively through Google or Microsoft accounts.
• We receive only your name and email address from these providers.
• We do not receive or store your password, and we do not share any information back with Google or Microsoft.

1.2 School Accounts

• Only schools that have registered with TurboQuiz can allow pupils and teachers to join.
• Each school’s data is fully isolated from other schools.
• Teachers can view their own pupils’ progress.
• Students can view only their own results and feedback.

1.3 Exam Answer Data

• When users submit answers to exam-style questions, the text of those answers is sent to OpenAI for processing to generate AI-powered feedback and marking.
• No names or emails are sent to OpenAI.
• Exam answers and AI feedback are stored separately from identifying information (names and emails).
• Because AI marking is the central function of TurboQuiz, use of the Website constitutes consent for this processing. Users who do not wish to have their answers processed by OpenAI should not use TurboQuiz.

1.4 Analytics and Cookies

• We may use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data to understand how visitors use the Website and improve functionality.
• Google Analytics does not identify individual users.
• We will update this section if additional cookies or analytics tools are introduced.

2. Use of Information

We use your data to:

• Provide secure login and access to TurboQuiz.
• Deliver AI-powered feedback and marking through OpenAI.
• Track student progress and display results to teachers.
• Maintain and improve the Website’s performance and security.
• Communicate essential updates or service-related messages.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the UK GDPR on the following bases:

• Consent – by using TurboQuiz, users consent to AI processing of exam answers via OpenAI as a core part of the service.
• Contract – to provide accounts and access to the Website.
• Legitimate interests – to develop, improve, and secure the Website.
• Legal obligation – to comply with data protection and safeguarding requirements.

4. Access to Information

• Teachers can see only their own pupils’ data.
• Students can see only their own progress and feedback.
• School managers can access all teacher and pupil data for their school.
• Authorised staff at Ed Punk Ltd may access data only when necessary for technical support or security.
• Data from each school is isolated and never visible to other schools.
• We do not sell or share personal information with third parties, except where required by law or as part of the AI marking process described above.

5. Deletion and Retention

• Teachers can delete pupil accounts they manage.
• School managers can delete teacher accounts.
• School managers can contact Ed Punk Ltd at support@fetchdecodeexplain.com to request deletion of their own manager account and all linked school data.
• All inactive accounts will be deleted after 2 years of inactivity.
• When a pupil, teacher, or school account is deleted, all identifiable information (name and email) is removed immediately.
• Exam answers and AI feedback that are detached from personal identifiers are treated as anonymised data and may be retained for statistical or educational purposes.

6. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular system monitoring. No system is 100% secure, but we work to minimise the risk of unauthorised access.

7. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Object to or restrict processing.
• Request transfer of your data.
